Text: Various. See below.

 - How do you relate to people that are different than you?

- Are there times you turn off your “ministry radar”? What are some of those times or scenarios when you are not looking to serve others?

- How do you share your faith in conversation?

- Think of a time when someone shared the truth in love to you.

Philippians 2:5-7

5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,

7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

The Woman at the Well - John 4:7-32  (Listen to John 4:7-32)

Midweek Moment

Matt. 20:17-27

The story of the pushy mother:

When the sons of Zebedee wanted the seats of power Christ taught them a essential Kingdom teaching: that the Kingdom of God is upside down, that the first will be last, that leaders are servants to others just as Christ demonstrated.

Jesus said: Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave- 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Membership has its Privileges and Responsibilities

The Marines and the Country Club are not the same!

Two Incredible Privileges

1. Pardoned from Death Row

· Rom. 3:23; 5:8; 6:23

2. Forgiven and Adopted

· Rom. 8:15 - 18

15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Three Huge Responsibilities

1. Change: Come as you are but don’t stay that way!

· Rom. 2:9-12; Rom. 12:1

· How have you changed in the last 6 months? Or have you changed?!!!

Rom 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is true worship

2. Sacrifice: Love one another and non-Christians sacrificially!

· John 13:34-35; John 3:16; 2 Timothy 2:24-26

· The Christian life is not a Country Club…it is an army!

· Only when others need supersede mine are we sacrificing.

3. Service: Find your role and fill it!

· 1 Peter 4:10-11; 1 Cor. 12; Rom. 12:3-8; Matt. 20:17-18

· We are Jesus’ hands, feet and mouth to the world.

· Do you know your spiritual gift? Are you using it?

· There are many opportunities to serve next week…sign up now to put your faith into action in serving others!
